Jutsu Basics
Note: Jutsu speeds will generally be equal to the user’s speed. Unless specified otherwise, everyone's speeds are the same.
Note 2: You cannot have two jutsu active at the same time if these two jutsu contradict each other - for example, by covering up for the weakness of another jutsu, or if the two require different handseals, etc.. [For instance: Susano'o may reduce the user's health over its duration. This means you cannot activate any jutsu during its duration that allows you to regenerate health]

----Learning Jutsu----
To learn a jutsu, you must fulfill all requirements needed for it. For the most part this will include specialties, elements, sometimes clan membership, and so on.Word Count Requirements for Learning Jutsu:- E Rank jutsu: 250 words
- D Rank jutsu: 500 words
- C rank jutsu: 750 words
- B rank jutsu: 1000 words
- A rank jutsu: 2000 words
- S rank jutsu: 3000 words

Here are some rules for the different ranks of Jutsu: (Replace 'Chakra' with 'Energy' if the technique is purely Taijutsu-based - it is also acceptable to meet the 'minimum cost' with a combination of both chakra and energy if the Jutsu is a mix of Ninjutsu and Taijutsu)- E Rank jutsu: Chakra costs are between 1-5. No specialty.
- D Rank jutsu: Chakra has a minimum cost of 6. No Specialty required.
- C rank jutsu: Chakra has a minimum cost of 11. No Specialty required.
- B rank jutsu: Chakra has a minimum cost of 21. Specialties are needed.
- A rank jutsu: Chakra has a minimum cost of 31. Specialties are needed.
- S rank jutsu: Chakra has a minimum cost of 41. Specialties are needed.
Due to the focus on Roleplaying as opposed to stats, boosts to speed via jutsus will not be allowed. Some boosting of health, chakra, or energy will be allowed, but not a lot, if at all.- All powerful jutsus must have a stated weakness.Template for making Jutsu

[b]Requirements:[/b] (this include the WC to learn it. More powerful jutsu with more effects or stats than the base amounts. Likewise, requirements may include other jutsu or to be born into a specific clan, etc.)
----Elements----
There are 5 basic elements in the world of Naruto – Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, and Water. Each is strong against the one after it (for instance, Fire is strong against Wind), and weak against the one before it (Fire is weak against Water).
- The first element is free.
- The second costs 1000 words.
- The third costs 2000 words.
- The wordcount required is halved if taught the element by another character (this does not stack with multiple characters).
- If two elemental jutsu touch, if one of them has an elemental advantage, the jutsu with an elemental advantage breaks through the jutsu that is weaker, if the other jutsu is at least two ranks lower than the one with the advantage. For instance, a C-rank fireball will dissipate upon meeting an A-rank or higher water bullet.
- The exception to this is that if the size of the weaker jutsu is at least double that of the stronger one, then in this case: they will cancel each other out.
- You cannot get rid of elements without items/jutsu that are specifically designed to do so.
----Advanced Elements----
Sometimes the basic elements can be fused into an advanced element. These advanced elements sometimes are unique to only a few ninjas, or an entire clan.
- To learn an advanced element (all of which must be registered first), you need a training post/topic of at least 1000 words.
- This word count is halved if it is taught by another character who already owns that advanced element.
- Advanced elements are not affected by the elemental chart for strengths and weaknesses.

----Specialties----
- The first spec. is free.
- The second costs 1000 words.
- The third costs 2000 words.
- The wordcount required is halved if taught the spec by another character (this does not stack with multiple characters).
- Gaining new specialties works the same way as for elements. However, you cannot get rid of elements without items/jutsu that are specifically designed to do so - but you can, for specialties.
- Specialties can be changed at any time.
- However, any jutsu the character knew that required the lost specialty are not refunded, and are instantly lost. They must be re-learnt if the character switches back to their old specialty.
- Each specialty has a bonus, outlined below.
- To use a specialty's bonus, state that you are using the bonus where applicable in your post(s).
The Specialties learnable are:
- Ninjutsu
- Genjutsu
- Sealing
- Space/Time
- Medical
- Taijutsu
- Weaponry
- Puppetry.
Each area covers different areas of the Ninja Arts.
Specialty Descriptions and Bonuses

Ninjutsu, originally only including elemental jutsu, has now expanded to include most forms of normal chakra manipulation, including stuff such as the Nara Clan’s shadow manipulation, and the many variants of the Rasengan. Most bloodlines use ninjutsu primarily.
BONUS PERMITTED: If you use a B+ Rank Ninjutsu that hits the opponent, they will always take 5 damage per hit even if blocking or guarding.
Genjutsu is the art of illusions. At first they were primarily cast through visual cues, but more inventive people have found other ways to trigger them. Genjutsu work by manipulating the flow of chakra in the target’s mind. In some cases the target is able to break free, using one of a few techniques, or with the help of another being.
BONUS PERMITTED: Can cancel out one of the enemy's permitted actions that they would've been able to take in their next post, if any B-rank+ Genjutsu successfully hits. Must be used before the opponent's post. Cooldown 5 posts.
Sealing, is, well, the art of sealing. Users are able to form seals, the primary purpose is to store stuff, for more specialized purposes than that of the basic sealing techniques used for the sealing scrolls. The seals are also capable of many things, usually by storing some of the user’s chakra however briefly, or by releasing stored energy in some form.
BONUS PERMITTED: Once per topic, the user can negate half of the damage done to themselves that is caused by any one Ninjutsu. This costs 20 chakra.
Space/Time is perhaps underutilized. Practitioners are able to bend Space and Time itself, to suit their purposes. This includes functions such as teleporting and creating pocket dimensions, among others…. Due to the complexity involved, techniques involving Time tend to be extremely uncommon.
BONUS PERMITTED: The user may obtain one extra action that cannot be blocked or guarded against, at a cost of 50 chakra per post. This action cannot be the third/last one in the post - it must be the first or second. If the opponent substitutes out of the way of the first/second action and consequently is out of reach of the second/third, all actions thereafter are cancelled, but any losses incurred as a result of those actions (health, chakra, etc) remain lost. This may be used up to twice in one topic.
Medical people are versed in the art of the human body. The medical specialists originally focused on healing techniques, but due to their healing and revitalizing techniques, they have also been in high demand for transplants of various forms…. Now, others have found that by stimulating and altering their cells, they are capable of altering their body, strengthening it to further heights.
BONUS PERMITTED: At a cost of 10 chakra, the user may regain 10 of their own health as one of the actions in their post. This is usable up to three times per topic.
Taijutsu is the world of martial arts. Punching, kicking, and much, much more. Taijutsu users tend to focus on the physical side of the ninja arts, unleashing powerful barrages of blows, and often relying on their agility. There are many styles of Taijutsu that focus on different types of physical attacks, or methodologies.
BONUS PERMITTED: If the opponent's last action was a taijutsu-based attack, then at the cost of 10 energy, you may both block and attack in the same action in your response to that post.
Weaponry spec is similar to taijutsu in that it allows usage of techniques involving weapons. This includes normal sword techniques, but also can include other techniques for other weapons, such as ways to utilize bows, or thrown weapons.
BONUS PERMITTED: The opponent will always take 5 damage when hit by a bladed weapon, even if blocking or guarding, unless they are using a sword to block or guard.
Puppetry is perhaps the least common of the specialties. The puppet masters arose within the Sand village but since then have spread out all over the ninja world. The puppet users can make puppets, that are either controlled remotely, or are worn like a suit of armor. The puppets start out with basic melee weapons but more experienced fighters will equip them with a myriad of other weapons, potentially including bombs, chakra cannons, wings, or perhaps some releasable jutsu…
BONUS PERMITTED: If the opponent uses a substitution as the last/only action in one of their posts and if you are using your own puppet(s), you may pay 10 chakra to have (one of) your puppet(s) appear two meters away from your opponent, as your first action.
