Building Sand Castles (Village Entry and Alliance)

One of Bar's Kage Bunshin approached the village gates, laden with tankers, carts, and massive jugs of pure, clean water, fresh from Kiri. Every ninja there was also wearing a stillsuit, a full-body suit that was designed to preserve moisture, provide a base for wearing armor attachments, maintain stealth, and also kept sand from entering sensitive bodily crevices. More stillsuits were also available for trade. Another import from Konoha were solar panels, but what a twist. Rather than only producing electrical power, these could also power chakra batteries, as well as change the nature from Lightning to Water. And what did Konoha want for these luxuries? Rare-earth metals, of course, but also plenty of Silicon, to be traded with Uchu. Student-exchange programs. Peace. The name of Gaara and Naruto, Rock Lee and Shira, was invoked many times, in order to ensure an alliance.

When you're used to having lots of water, old habits of water conservation tend to fall by the wayside. Gradually, Bar and Konoha began to replace the traditional methods of getting water, such as how to find an oasis in the deep desert. Once that had happened, all Bar needed to do was wait for traditions to be forgotten, the elderly to die, and for certain books to be conveniently misplaced. Just time.

The missing Kazekage was the straw that broke the camel's back. Even the rumor that Bar might dispel his Kage Bunshin and leave, taking his technology, water, and ryo with him was enough to make the village elder's mouths go dry (figuratively and literally) and capitulate. Another of Bar's Kage Bunshin became the new Kazekage. One clever ninja quipped that they should change the title to Kazekagebunshin.

Bar understood the essential paradox: In order to ensure peace, one must be ready to wage war. There is more than one way to wage war, and more than one way to ensure peace. Sometimes, both of those ways are the same. Secondly, Bar was a master of the Leaf Style of Combat: Create at least one opening, then attack. If your attack does not defeat your opponent, then it should create more openings.
