Ninja Rank Rules
Anyone who is demoted for any reason, including stepping down from leadership, will keep everything from their highest achieved rank. If demoted, please include the highest achieved rank on your statistics page and the topic in which it occurred.
Wanderers/Missing-NinWanderers do not have a normal basis for ranking up, aside from special missions or events.
Academy Student: Starting Rank.
Genin: Starting Rank, or rank up through Genin Exams.
Genin Exam
The Genin exam is the first step to becoming an official shinobi, obtaining Genin however requires a bit of work, as is expected.
-You must learn the Clone Jutsu, and the Transformation Jutsu.
-After the aforementioned, you must demonstrate your acquired jutsu in a 200 minimum post to a Proctor (npc'd by a mod), who will most likely approve your rankup.
Chuunin
The normal method is through Chuunin Exams.
Defeating a Chuunin-rank ninja in life-or-death combat during a time of war or an event is also grounds for promotion, though the rankup must be approved by a staff member, and the fight will be reviewed to ensure it was not staged, and that it was a true and fair fight.
Jounin
Defeating a Jounin-rank ninja in life-or-death combat during a time of war or an event is also grounds for promotion, though the rankup must be approved by a staff member and the fight will be reviewed to ensure it was not staged, and that it was a true and fair fight.
ANBU
ANBU must already be Jounin, and they must be hand-picked by their corresponding Kage/Leader as well as having completed 2 S-Rank Missions - One of which must be completed solo. Candidate must also complete at least 10 posts of Character Development with their village's Kage/Leader before being promoted.
Master
Be a Jounin and complete one of the following:
- Must have completed at least 5 S-Rank missions, one of which must involve a controlled NPC opponent.
- Must have at least 20 posts of Character Development with their Village Kage/Leader (counting the posts only for the character desiring a rankup).
Kage/Village Leader
Fulfil one of the following:
- Kill the prior Kage/leader, take over and not be stopped after 48 hours, be the chosen successor of the previous village leader, or be selected by admins/mods.
Village leaders can choose to abdicate peacefully if they have a successor. If they are going on a trip elsewhere (war, for instance) it is highly suggested that they leave someone else in charge at their village to protect their position during this time. As such, the village leaders may choose another player character to be their Deputy, who will take charge when the normal leader is away. This is the equivalent to a rank-up to Master position.
Unlike the other ranks,
village leaders can lose their rank due to activity. If a village leader is inactive or does not post in their village for 2 weeks, they are presumed missing, training in a faraway land, or otherwise occupied, and their nominated successor takes power. The former leader becomes a Master (default), or an S-rank wanderer, depending on the successor's disposition. If there was no nominated successor, the staff will choose a successor, likely based on rank and activity.
-------------
A Kage/Village Leader or anyone they have given such power to In-Character, can promote a ninja at any given time, should they preform a feat befitting such a rank, including specially assigned missions. Nobody can rank up someone else to their own rank or higher. Staff must review the rank up, and ensure that the feat does match the rank reward.
